Is TSH Community Cove a school?
No. The Cove is envisioned as a supervised community space for homeschooled children. It does not provide formal schooling, curricula or qualifications. The physical centre is still in development.
Does the Cove provide homeschooling materials or programmes?
No. Children bring their own learning materials and follow the homeschooling arrangements selected by their parents.
Can the Cove register my child for homeschooling?
No. Parents or legal guardians remain responsible for homeschooling registration and applicable educational requirements.
Will teachers provide lessons?
The Cove is not intended to provide formal teaching or tutoring. Children work on their own homeschooling activities, with appropriate adult supervision and opportunities for peer support.
What is the main purpose of the Cove?
Friendship, social interaction, shared experiences, activities and belonging around each family’s independent homeschooling arrangements.
How much will participation cost?
The proposed standard monthly participation contribution is R499 per child after the free first month. It supports the community space and its operation; it is not a school fee or payment for formal education.
Is the first month really free?
Every newly enrolled child would receive the first month of standard participation free, once per child, following confirmed enrolment and subject to capacity, supervision and parent consent. Optional separately priced activities are not automatically included.
Will I be charged automatically after the free month?
No automatic paid renewal or charge will take place without your clear agreement. You may choose not to continue after the free month without penalty.
Are there additional activity fees?
Some optional outings or special experiences may cost extra. Dates, the cost per child, transport, equipment, age suitability, supervision and consent requirements must be communicated in advance. Parents must approve participation and costs beforehand; there are no unexpected charges.
What if I cannot afford R499 per month?
Sponsored or subsidised places are intended to help, subject to funding, capacity and fair eligibility terms. Contact the founders privately to enquire. Assistance is not automatic or guaranteed, and no family will be publicly identified as needing support.
Can you recommend homeschooling providers?
We may share information about independent providers known to us. Referrals are informational only. Parents evaluate providers, check accreditation and legal suitability, and arrange registration and payment directly. The Cove does not guarantee provider quality or results. No affiliation is implied unless confirmed.
Can I contribute or donate?
Yes. Voluntary donations, useful equipment, resources, services and assistance are welcome. Contributions do not create ownership or decision-making rights. Substantial or conditional arrangements need both founders’ acceptance.
Can families suggest activities?
Yes. Families may share ideas and feedback. The founders decide which activities and developments are appropriate; suggestions do not create an obligation to implement them.
When will the Cove open, and can I enrol now?
No opening date is confirmed and child enrolment is not open. You can register family interest now, but this does not enrol a child, reserve a place or guarantee attendance. The existing adult online hub is separate from future child participation.
